Dips in the Wild
No gym? No excuses. You can be active no matter where you are and my goal this summer is to provide you with snippets of live video of how I workout using my body weight and whatever prop I can find.
For the past few weeks I have been ending my days with a walk. Not a gentle walk but a walk that is designed to help improve my cardiovascular endurance. I have added in dips, push-ups, squats, pull-ups...any exercise I can safely perform depending on the stable prop I find. I am certain that more than one driver has wondered what I am doing :-) What I have found is a fun way to get in some extra strength training while also de-stressing after a long day.
I previously shared a video where I was doing push-ups. This video is a brief clip showing how I perform dips on the bicycle rack outside of my apartment building. There were some bird droppings that I was trying to avoid hence the funny look before I positioned my hands (ick!). If you can't safely do body weight dips do not try these and please don't try them with your groceries in your backpack unless you have the upper body strength to do so safely.
Wingman's bottom line: you can workout anywhere and everywhere, it just takes a little creativity.
